BPF gifts to orphanage prohibited

Miadziel district chief ideologist prohibited the Belarusian People’s Front (BPF) party to make gifts to an orphanage. Since this spring the BPF party has been collecting things for orphans and sick children of cancer hospitals and departments. Miadziel refused from the aid - the refusal was initiated by authorities, not by the administration of the local orphanage. Vintsuk Viachorka comments on the situation:

“Before the 20th anniversary of Charnobyl we declared that we collect things for little patients of the children cancer and hematologic hospital of Baraulany. There wasn’t a day without anyone fetching things. We have brought the things to Baraulany but then decided this shouldn’t be a one-time campaign. After that we have given aid to three different hospitals of the country. But suddenly we have encountered a problem: expressing gratitude, certain managers of hospitals were afraid their administration would get to know about the gift and would press them. This conspiracy was tiresome. We started to act officially. We found out that the orphanage of Miadziel needs aid, and addressed local ideological chief Nadzieya Gernovich. And she… prohibited the gifts to the orphanage claiming the children do not need anything!”

“But even in the most prosperous countries orphanages are not so well-off, and they accept any aid with gratitude! Moreover, we must appreciate the noble aspiration of our people who are ready to give this aid. So, is the Miadziel orphanage really so luxurious?” Vintsuk Viachorka posed a rethorical question.
