France insisting on Belarus’s democratization

French Ministry of Foreign Affairs yet again has reminded the Belarusian authorities the necessity of the observation of such European values as freedom, human rights and law-based state.

“Together with our European Union partners we remind that the European Union is open to closer and better relations with Belarus only after the authorities demonstrate vividly their desire to observe the pointed values”, - said in statement of French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs spokesman.

It should be reminded that 11 October French MFA criticized the arrests of the Belarusian opposition representatives on the European March’s eve. The actions of the Belarusian authorities were aimed against the scheduled for 14 October action.

“We were concerned to know about the arrests aimed against the organizers of the European March scheduled for 14 October in Minsk.”, - the official spokesman of the French MFA declared 11 October. – “We criticize these actions of the authorities, that are being continued in spite of repeated warns of the European Union and its members.
