Russia is not going to hold new negotiations with Belarus on 2008 supplies of gas and other energy resources, PRIME-TASS reports referring to a source from the Russian government.

According to the source, oil and gas supplies terms have already been defined in other agreements, the gas price formula was elaborated, and the new gas price for 2008 will be calculated with this formula. “Our position is based on our assurance that the agreements on oil and gas are rigid, and we are ready to confirm the implementation of these agreements. No negotiations on this issue are planned for yearend 2007, and we hope there’ll be no more New Year surprises this time,” the source said.

The source didn’t mention the new price for the Russian gas that will be supplied to Belarus in 2008, pointing out that the price will be calculated in the end of this year basing on statistical data.
