Sheiman left for United Arab Emirates

Today Viktar Sheiman, the Security Council of Belarus State Secretary, head of the working group on the bilateral cooperation Belarus-UAE begins his official visit to the United Arab Emirates.

As BELTA correspondent was informed in press center of the Security Council State Secretariat, the appointment between Sheiman and UAE leadership is scheduled within the visit frames. In particular, with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum, Minister of Defense, the Ruler of Dubai, and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, the Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of the Government of Abu Dhabi.

The state and the perspectives of bilateral trade and economic development are to be discussed on the negotiations. A number of invest projects in real estate, petro-chemistry, energy security and tourism areas is to be considered.

The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the United Arabic Emirates were established 20 March, 1992. In December 1999 the Embassy of Belarus in the UAE began its work.

In March 2000 and March 2007 the state delegation headed by President of Belarus Aliaksandr Lukashenka paid visits to the UAE. As the result of the official visit of the head of state in 2007 the working groups on the development of bilateral cooperation were created in Belarus and the UAE. The UAE party in the group is headed by Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak and the Belarus party by Viktar Sheiman, the Security Council State Secretary.

The United Arabic Emirates are one of the main trade partners of Belarus among the Arabic states in the Persian Gulf region. In different periods Belarus supplied to the UAE the products on more than 50 positions. The base of the Belarusian export compile bearings, tyres, fiberglass, dried milk, industrial tractors, trailers, the base of the import from the UAE – cordon fabrics for tyre manufacturing. Medical agents, crockery, conditioners, perfume, rubber and plastic products are also imported.

Belarus is planning that such directions of the cooperation with the United Arabic Emirates as science and education, telecommunication, agriculture, transport, culture, health service, energy, tourism will receive the necessary stimulus for the development.
