Russia ready to defend CIS dictators by all means

President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree “About signing the Agreement on peacekeeping activity of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Press service of Russian State informs.
Before the CSTO members prepared a package of documents on the formation of the common peacekeeping forces by type of rapid deployment forces. As CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordiuzha said those divisions will take part in the peacekeeping operations on the territories of the CSTO members and beyond their borers on mandate or request of the UNO.
According to N. Bordiuzha every CSTO member will assign its peacekeeping contingent for participation in the operations in CSTO frameworks according to the agreements.
The Secretary General stressed that before the beginning of a peacekeeping operation the troops of every country will under the jurisdiction of that country, but with the beginning of an operation it will go under the sole command in CSTO frames.
SCTO summit where the question of the peacekeeping forces formation was discussed took place in Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe in early October. The organization participants signed more than 20 documents including those of common security, establishing of the reaction mechanisms in the urgent situations, informational security.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a military and political union, created by former Soviet Republics on the base of Collective Security Treaty (CST) signed 15 May 1992. The treaty is extended automatically every 5 years. The members of CSTO are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
