USA are going to defend freedom of Internet. Among others – in Belarus

The United States will combat the attempts of the foreign countries of the internet censorship or restricting access to the Internet, and persecution of the World web users. The relevant law was adopted by the US Congress on Friday. The document “Global Online Freedom Act” was adopted without a dissenting vote.
Rep. Chris Smith noted that Internet companies should not cooperate with repressive regimes to track down the democracy activists.
Soon the Office of Global Internet Freedom (OGIF) at the US State Department will be established the aims of which will be protection and promotion of the Internet information abroad.
The United States Director of National Intelligence, Ministry of Justice and General Prosecutor, the US President Spokesman on trade negotiations and all the structures of the US government will facilitate the assigned task.
According to the new law a list of Internet-restricting countries will be created, RIA (Russian Information Agency) Novosti reports. On the law’s entry into force Belarus, Cuba, Ethiopia, Iran, Laos, North Korea, China, Tunis and Vietnam are to be included in the list.
