Minsk Leninski district court rejected the claim of human rights activist Aleg Vouchak launched to the public prosecutor’s office. Judge Igar Germanovich considered the actions of investigators of the public prosecution of Leninski district regarding Aleg Vouchak appropriate.

The human rights activist demanded a criminal case against the unknown people who bet him up on 17 February 2006 in the building of the National press center. As Aleg Vouchak stated in court, the public prosecutor’s office violated the law refusing to investigate the fact of beating at the last presidential election campaign, Radio Svaboda reports.

Aleg Vouchak, one of the observers of election head quarters of candidate for the presidential post Aliaksandar Kazulin, wasn’t allowed to the building by unknown people in muftis. According to Aleg Vouchak, he was beaten up and got tear-gas in his ace. These actions were filmed and then demonstrated by the state television.

11 June 2006 Minsk Leninski district public prosecutor’s office refused to start a criminal case and didn’t identify the offenders. According to Aleg Vouchak, who worked as an investigator in late 90s, his application was considered with numerous law infringements.

Moreover, Aleg Vouchak asked to call to the court Aliaksandar Kazulin, who is now passing his sentence in a Vitsiebsk prison, as a witness on the case. But the application was declined. Nor was the application for joining the videotape on the events in the National press center to the case accepted. Then Aleg Vouchak claimed distrust towards judge Igar Germanovich.

Aleg Vouchak says he will not accept this resolution of the court and will claim to the UN Human Rights Committee.
