Tatsiana Klimava: «Andrei faced sentence with fortitude»

It is not yet known in what prison politician Andrei Klimau will serve his sentence. His wife Tatsiana Klimava said it “Radio Svaboda”. She saw her husband in Minsk investigatory isolation ward where the oppositional politician spent 7 months.

Their meeting took place after some hours the Minsk city court left the sentence to Klimau without changes.

As a lawyer Tatsiana Klimava presented in the Minsk city court when the cassational appeal against his sentence of court of first instance was examined. According to her the trial was closed and long. The judges consulted for 15 minutes and after that declared they left the sentence without changes.

“Andrei didn’t comment the city court judgement of confirming the previous sentence. He behaved with fortitude. Anyhow, he didn’t complain”, - Tatsiana Klimava says.

It should be reminded that the former deputy was sentenced to 2 years of prison of strict regimen for the article in the Internet.
