A trial over an activist of the Belarusian Popular Front Party, a teacher from the village of Talka Natalya Ilyinich. The woman was tried for instigation for falsification of documents and sentenced to a year and a half of corrective labour with paying 20% of salary to the state.
“In March this year my daughter, a second-year student of the history faculty of the Belarusian State University, visited Poland to take part in a history seminar,” Natalya said to the Belarusian Popular Front party press-service. “She fell ill, and consulted a doctor. She was given a sickness certificate. After her return from Poland the diagnosis was confirmed and she was given the certificate. After that the girl was taped by the state Belarusian TV near the streamer of the Young Frond during a political rally. In a few days a KGB man came to her faculty and saying that he knows about the trip, asked her to provide information about such trips and seminars. My daughter refused to collaborate. And then the case with health certificate was opened”.
By the way, the doctor who has given her the sickness certificate, has been similarly sentenced to a year and a half of corrective labour and paying 20% of salary to the state.
