Officials criticising creation of «Belaya Rus»: no good will come of it

The organizing congress of the organization “Belaya Rus” (“White Russia”) taken place last Saturday, draw the attention of the society with the statement that it soon may become a political party.
Viktar Chykin, editor-in-chief of “7 Days”, former secretary of Central Commission of the Party of Communist Belarusian, first secretary of CC of Communist Party of Belarus, which was created by him and a group of communist who left the Party of Communist Belarusian. He said in the exclusive comment to Camarade.biz:
- The attempts of creation a ruling party are not the first on the post-Soviet area. All of them failed. The best example of it is the United Russia. The reason is evident. The parties are created not for a certain politician, but for ideology. The ideas, as it is known from classic works on politics, must rule the population mass. It takes at least 10 years with vigorous propaganda campaign. In other case, it becomes clear that parties are dead-born or perform only decorative function, as in Russia. The mass popularity of the United Russia can be explained not by the party popularity, but especially high authority of Vladimir Putin.
When creating the public organization “Belaya Rus”, the same technology is used. There is no ideology. At least, yet. They say they will support the head of state. But, frankly speaking, I’m not sure, Aliaksandr Lukashenka needs it, being a politician of such political level. A thought creeps in that some deft people want to use his name in their purposes. What concerns the fact that “Belaya Rus” may become a “ruling party”, I am rather optimistic about it. Time will show, how it will come out. But being a man, who devoted a significant part of his life to political work, I want to say one needs do it professionally and with total efficiency. Aliaksandr Radzkou, who headed the new organization, has neither necessary experience nor opportunity to throw himself into party activity. It follows from his statement that he wants to stay at the post of minister of education. So, it can’t be excluded that they want to do the best, but it will come out as usual!
