Is Ananich rewarded for reprisal over independent press?

The first deputy Information minister of Belarus Liliya Ananich has been awarded the highest award at the 15th International professional exhibition “Press-2008” which has opened in Moscow today. At the opening ceremony of the forum she was awarded a diploma “For flawless business reputation”. However the official’s reputation is far from being flawless.

Ananich has been blacklisted in the EU and US and banned entry to these countries for reprisal over independent press, issuing official warnings and closing newspapers.
