A representative of the Russian holding Atomstrojexport has informed that the enterprise is conducting talks with Belarus on construction of the first Belarusian nuclear power plant. The statement about that has been made at a conference on issues of nuclear power plants construction.
It is Atomstrojexport that constructed nuclear power plant in Busher, Telegraf informs.
“We are carrying out concrete talks with Belarus on construction of a nuclear power plant,” Alexandr Glukhov said. As said by him, the matter concerns discussion by experts on water-cooled and moderated reactor project”.
“One could say that the Belarusian government has adopted a decision to construct a water-cooled and moderated reactor,” told the first vice-president of Atomstrojexport.
At the moment Atomstrojexport is constructing five power units outside Russia, including Iran and Bulgaria. A pecification is being prepared for a tender for nuclear power plant construction in Belarus.
As Telegraf earlier informed, participants of the international tender for construction of the first Belarusian nuclear power plant station would be asked to make a special competition task
As said by the first deputy chairman of the national Academy of Science Pyotr Vitsyaz, the competition is to be announced “in accordance with established procedure, as is usual in many countries”. Besides, as said by him, “there are issues which are to be solved in the framework of bilateral agreements, talks”. “It is natural we cannot build it without Russians,” the press-secretary Pyotr Vitsyaz said.
As we have informed, China is set to construct a nuclear power plant as well, but with the help of French companies, and accordingly, French technologies.
Previously during the visit of French president Nicolas Sarkozy to China, an agreement was signed for a sum of 8 billion dollars. It looks like China does not need even a single “Chernobyl”.
