Pensioners protest against repeal of benefits

On December 16 in Homel at the square in front of the Palace of Culture of hearing-impaired “Vipra” a meeting against repeal of benefits was held. It was an unsanctioned meeting. City authorities gave a negative reply to its applicants. About 100 persons were present at the meeting. Most of them were pensioners.

Organizers of the protest, according to informational materials, were representatives of the united democratic forces of the region, BelaPAN informs.

The pensioners discussed the problem of repeal of benefits, low salaries and pensions, and asked questions to policemen and secret services men present at the meeting about issues they were interested in.
