Naftan to be sold to Lukoil?

An operational conference was held on the Navapolatsk oil processing enterprise Naftan. CEO Vechaslau Yakushau said Naftan would soon be sold to Russian oil company Lukoil.

Naftan’s affiliate Palimir will also be sold to Russians. An anonymous officer of the plant said it to “Nasha Niva”.

According to his information, Lukoil is to buy 50 per cent stake in Naftan.

Anatio Yudzyankou, deputy CEO on economy and finances, said he didn’t comment these talks. On the question if anyone on Naftan can comment the information, he said: “Nobody on the plant will comment it for the time being.”

The press service of Lukoil Company said they comment only the done deals after the contracts were signed. On the question if they can confirm the negotiations on Naftan purchase are being carried on, they answered: “We can’t comment it.”

Oil processing plant Naftan was created in 1958. The state owns 99.8 per cent stake, and the collective of the company holds 0.2 per cent stake. It is one of the most expensive companies in Belarus.
