Fireworks on Christmas (Photo)

Midnight Masses were held in catholic churches of Belarus on 24 December. Christmas firework was organised at midnight in the capital for the first time.

The firework accompanied the Christmas Mass in the Minsk Cathedral of Holy Maiden Maria.

Minsk-Mahilyov Archbishop Tadeush Kandrusevich congratulated the Belarusian Catholics on the Birth of Christ. “The today’s holiday says us, the place of birth is not so important for a person, but place of his or her living is of greater importance,” he said in the congratulation. “The Saviour came to this world in poverty, it was no place for him even in a victualling-house. But Christ showed by his life that the true character of a human being is determined by the values he or she confesses. In this regard Christ is the best example to follow.”

Celebration of Christmas was organised in all towns and many villages of Belarus.
