Vladimir Putin’s visit to Belarus is scheduled for 13 December. Pavel Borodin, State Secretary of the so called union country said it, but the press service of Russian president doesn’t confirm the information.
According to Borodin, Putin and Lukashenka are to “talk over the matter” of the project of the “constitutional act”.
What can be expected of Putin’s visit? Euroradio asked international commentator Raman Yakauleuski about it. He thinks there is a threat to sovereignty of Belarus.
“As far as I know, Lukashenka tried to phone Putin several times, but was rejected explicitly. It makes a certain intrigue ahead of the meeting, which is to be held in Minsk.
Moreover, Putin will say name of his successor about 17–18 December. I have strong suspicion that the subject of the meeting will be the notorious constitutional act of the so called union state and this is very dangerous for sovereignty of Belarus,” Raman Yakauleuski said.
