Belarusian economy has survived an almost double rise of prices for energy resources this year without serious consequences. This fact has been mentioned by the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Science Mikhail Myasnikovich at scientific and practical seminar. But the next year will be more difficult.

“The country has passed this period of hike of prices for energy resources rater successfully,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. “But conditions are to become even more difficult in 2008 and 2009, and economic entities are to take that in consideration”.

As underlined by the chairman of the Pres National Academy of Science, according to forecasts world prices for energy resources in the near future won’t grow considerably, and in 2009-2011 some reduction is possible. According to agreements with Russia, prices for Belarus are to grow rather quickly up to 2011. Thus, conditions for the country will be worse as compared to other countries.
