Vladimir Putin will head the “union state”, Echo of Moscow reports referring to sources in Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s administration.

13–14 December the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is paying a visit to Minsk. The prepared Constitutional Act proclaiming the Russia-Belarus “union state” is to be signed during the visit, close to Lukashenka sources said to the radiostation.

According to the sources, Putin will become a president of the “union state” after he left his presidential post. Alyaksandr Lukashenka will rule the “union government.”

Reports about Putin’s new position have caused a boom on the web. The news is discussed with incredibly actively. And the estimations of Putin’s actions by Belarusians are extremely negative.

The official structures have hurried to deny the news. A deputy head of the Kremlin’s press-service Dmitry Peskov has noted that the act won’t be signed in Minsk, as the constitutional act is not ready. Answering the question whether the meeting would open the way for Putin’s election as a new “union’s” president, Peskov stated: “I don't know anything about such issue being on the agenda.”

These reports have surprised people in Belarus as well. “Let the authors of that have it on their conscience,” told spokesperson of the Belarusian president Paval Lyohki. These reports have been called “ravings” in Lukashenka’s inner circle. The press-service of the Belarusian president informs that discussion of the draft Constitutional act is expected in Minsk, nothing more.

Maybe, Putin wants to rule Belarus, but he doesn’t know what it is like. Because Belarusians will never put up with even such a mongrel form of the “union state”.
