Popular Front choosing leader

Congress of the Belarusian Popular Front is to take place in the center of culture of the Minsk Automobile Plant on 8–9 December. The subject of the congress is election of party’s leader. It should be reminded the candidates for this position are current BPF head Vintsuk Vyachorka and deputy heads Viktar Ivashkevich and Ales Mikhalevich.

According to Uladzimer Labkovich, head of the legal commission, 260 delegates from regions will come to the congress. Many guests have been invited, among them are Nil Gilevich, people’s poet of Belarus, Valer Mazynski, famous director, former director of the theater “Free Stage”, human right activist Garry Paganyaila.

U. Labkovich also said more than 40 journalists were registered to give coverage to work of the congress.

The congress begins its work at 10 a.m. on 8 December. The registration of delegates will last from 8 a.m. till 10 a.m.
