Entrepreneurs didn’t begin work on markets

In spite of normal working mode, more than 90 per cent of entrepreneurs didn’t open their store units on 2 January. Only some people worked on markets in Zhdanovichy, Malinauka, Ekspobel. The same situation could be seen all over the republic. In such a manner entrepreneurs are protesting against the decree №760.
The strike against the decree, allowing to employ only close relatives, was declared since 1 January. But only after holidays it has become evident that the entrepreneurs are decided about it.
Alyaksandr Makaeu, head of the Minsk Council of Entrepreneurs, said to “Salidarnast”, 90-95 per cent of store units on Minsk markets didn’t work on 2 January.
– It’s probably early to speak that all entrepreneurs support the strike, - Makaeu notes. – The situation will become clear only in some days. But it is already known that lease for next year wasn’t paid for 200 working places among 1200 on building market in Zhdanovichy, 25 per cent of working places in shopping center “Zerkalo”, in the shopping center “Europe” the whole floor was clear.
Several shopping centers in Magilou didn’t start the work on 2 January. As Anatol Shumchanka, leader of the Republican Public Association “Perspektiva” said, Magilou entrepreneurs held a meeting in the morning and decided to take to the central square on 3 January and demand the meeting with the authorities to solve the problem.
– The authorities have reached what they wanted. The markets are closed, entrepreneurs don’t work. – Shumchanka notes. – We are not going to sit twiddling our thumbs, we are to go on struggling. Entrepreneurs are more determined after the recent statements of the president.
It should be reminded that Lukashenka criticised strongly activity of individual entrepreneurs during his visit to “SOS-Children’s Village” in Baraulyany.
– Many people began to import goods for themselves through the individual entrepreneurs, who have benefits. The criminal environment has appeared, – Lukashenka declared.
He also stressed that the state gave fresh air to entrepreneurs by adopting the decree №760.
– Well, be individual entrepreneurs some time, employ relatives and work on favourable conditions. Don’t you like it? You’ll work in equal conditions in a year. I departed yesterday, having signed the decree extending terms of re-registration of individual entrepreneurs into private unitary enterprises on simplified scheme. After that they won’t have favourable conditions for re-registration, – Lukashenka said.
But entrepreneurs regard the “fresh air” only as an attempt to strangle the small business.
– We need to demonstrate our solidarity right now, – Alyaksandr Makaeu thinks. – Because if the authorities see the entrepreneurs are not consolidated, they will keep using such methods of treating us.
It is planned the strike will last till 15 January. Entrepreneurs are to take to October (Kastrychnitskaya) Square on 10 January. The public association “Perspektiva” in its turn is going to hold the “march of entrepreneurs” in the latter half of January.
