90 % of Brest entrepreneurs support strike

About 90 per cent of individual entrepreneurs, working on markets and shopping centers of Brest, support all-republican action of protest.

“Entrepreneurs are going not to work with non-payment of taxes form 1 to 15 January,” Viktar Chaikouski, head of the Brest Department of Public Association “Perspektiva” said to BelaPAN. “If nothing changes, they are going to suspend their activity for indefinite period since 1 February. The authorities, who don’t want to listen to entrepreneurs, make them assert their rights in such a way.”

It should be reminded that the strike of individual entrepreneurs began on 1 January. The action of protest is directed against item 1.1 of the president’s decree №760, according to which individual entrepreneurs can employ only close relatives since 1 January. The strike is held in the form of mandatory leave with non-payment of taxes.

It should be noted that about 8.000 Brest entrepreneurs supported national one-day strike of individual entrepreneurs on 19 December.
