Democratic activist Zmiter Barodka received an answer from the Partizanski district internal affairs department to his complaint concerning seizure 100 flags of the European Union by police.
The letter, signed by A. S. Gaidukevich, head of the Partizanski district internal affairs department, says: “Your application has been considered, examination has been stopped, attributes, withdrawn on the address..., have been destroyed. In case you disagree with the decision taken, you have a right to go to law.”
Flags of the European Union were seized in last October ahead of the European March from the apartment of Zmiter Barodka’s friend, opposition activist Leanid Navitski. Both Zmiter Baroda and Leanid Navitski were arrested and spent 15 days in the special prison facility on Akrestin Street.
Zmiter Barodka is going to make a comlaint against actions of officers of the Partizanski district internal affairs department.
“I’m going to make a complaint against actions of policemen, who destroyed the EU flags. On what ground do they destroy European symbols? On the one hand the authorities are going to repair relations with the EU, but on the other hand they destroy the EU flags. It’s an act of state vandalisms,” Zmiter Barodka said in the interview to the Charter’97 press center.
