Belarusian organisations would be able to send children only in those foreign states with which Belarus has international agreements foreseeing state guarantees of safe stay of Belarusian children during their recuperation trips in a certain country and their timely return back home, Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s decree reads.
As BELTA was informed by the press-service of the president, on October 13 Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree #555, by which he amended decree of February 18, 2004 #98 “On organizing rest and recuperation of children abroad based on foreign grant aid”.
Before such international agreements are concluded, children are to be sent in line with the previous procedure for recuperation only in special organized groups. Such groups are to be formed from children who cannot go for recuperation abroad in common organized groups which is confirmed by medical documents.
Age limits are also set and the number of trips in one country is limited. Children up to 14 years can go abroad, and no more than 3 times in the same foreign state.
The exception is the foreign states with which Belarus concluded international treaties before October 1, 2008. It is expected that this procedure would allow more children go abroad for rest and recuperation.
