A rally of solidarity, organised by activists of the “Young Belarus” organisation, took place in Polatsk yesterday.

At 8 in the evening, 15 youth activists gathered at the monument to Frantsysk Skaryna in the city center. Girls and boys lighted candles and formed a human chain for 15 minutes, holding portraits of disappeared Viktar Hanchar, Yury Zakharanka, and Zmitser Zavadski, Radio Svaboda reports.

Ivan Krakhotka, commander of militia of public security, came up to them and asked who were the people on the portrait, but didn’t detain the activists. 6 militiamen watched the action from a distance. They got in their cars and drove away when the rally of solidarity was over.
