The work on drafting the constitutional act of the so-called “union state” is completed, chairman of the “house of representatives” of the “national assembly” of Belarus Vadzim Papou told BelTA.

“The Belarusian-Russian working group handling the preparation of the draft Constitutional Act of the union state has finished coordinating the document. The draft has been submitted for consideration of the union state Supreme State Council”.

According to Vadzim Papou, the draft Constitutional Act may be considered at the next session of the Supreme State Council.

The Speaker of the lower chamber of the Belarusian “parliament” said that there were several Constitutional Act drafts that contained very radical proposals. Some of them suggested setting up a confederation state and appointing the “union state” president. “According to the latest document, all the issues are settled in accordance with the union state treaty,” Vadzim Papou said.
