Windows were broken in the office of the Belarusian Popular Front party, marking its 20th anniversary at night October 18/19.

As human rights activist and BPF activist Uladzimir Labkovich told to the Charter’97 press center, windows facing Masherau Street (former Varvashenya Street) were broken. It wasn’t the first hooligan attack at the BPF office, situated some meters from the Academy of Ministry of Internal Affaires, secured by militia officers. None of hooligans, attacked the office of the organisation in the city center, was punished.

“These are absolutely hooligan actions, happened systematically. Some institutions probably train their officers by such a way, windows were broken several times, hoax explosive devices were put near doors. This happens only a few steps from Militia Academy. Or it is an incompetence of the law enforcement bodies, or it is indulgence of hooliganism. Militia doesn’t want to prevent regular attacks at our office,” Uladzimir Labkovich told to the Charter’97 press center.

It should be reminded that the Administration of Alyaksandr Lukashenka and the Minsk city executive committee denied the BPF renting of premises for celebration the 20th anniversary of the Front.
