In Drahichyn, local militiamen burst into during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Belarusian Popular Front and searched the room.

“We gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the BPF party and chose this out-of-the-world spot. But six militiamen of the Drahichyn militia department burst into. Principal officer Aleh Martynovich said they were looking for a dangerous criminal and should search the room. When a rigorous search was conducted, militiamen asked to show passports and copied data,” head of the BPF regional office Ales Mekh told in an interview to Radio Svaboda.

“Regional authorities have started to fulfil an order of Lukashenka, who promised there would be no opposition six months after the elections,” Brest human rights activist Uladzimer Vyalichkin, also searched by militia, said.
