Almost two weeks is left before the presidential elections in the United States. This election race has been called innovative: voters wrote in their blogs about the elections, candidates posted video to YouTube, John McCain even reached Belarusian-speaking Internet users!

mccainforbelarus.com resource in excellent pure Belarusian tells why McCain is worthy to be president. Special section McCain and Belarus contains links to the speeches, where he mentioned Belarus, “KP v Belarusi” newspaper writes.

It is true, Senator McCain is partial to our country.

– I planned to lead a delegation of four U.S. Senators to Belarus, where we hoped to have several meetings, including one with the President. Mr. Lukashenko refused us visas, rejected our visit, and denied us entry into the country, Mr McCain said in 2004.

This year, in the middle of July, McCain said about Phil Gramm, his top economic advisor, who criticised the candidate.

– I think Sen. Gramm would be in serious consideration for ambassador to Belarus. Though I'm not sure the citizens of Minsk would welcome that, Mr McCain said. After this remark, the advisor retired and left the senator’s campaign headquarters.

Note of www.charter97.org: It should be added that John McCain have always noted that Belarus is the last dictatorship in Europe, and called Alyaksandr Lukashenka a “brutal dictator”.

Lukashenka is a brutal dictator I believe America must stand up to dictators. I support sanctions against his rule, republican presidential candidate John McCain said in this July.
