“European Belarus” activists called to KGB

  • 29.10.2008, 10:15

Two activists of the “European Belarus” civil campaign were called to the State Security Committee (KGB) “for a conversation.”

As www.jeans-by.com reports, Maksim Vinyarski received a call on a home phone. A person introduced himself as an officer of KGB department for Minsk and the Minsk region. Maksim’s mother answered the call and said Maksim didn’t live there.

Mikata Shutsyankou had a call on his handy, and a KGB officer, who didn’t introduced himself, suggested to meet “for a conversation”. The activist refused to meet.

It should be reminded that Maksim Vinyarski was arrested yesterday for an action of solidarity with political prisoner Alyaksandr Barazenka near the detention facility in Valadarski Street together with other “European Belarus” activists, in particular Palina Dzyakova, Mikhail Kandrashou and “Young Belarus” activist Uladzimir Syarheeu. Young oppositionists were released some hours after the detention.
