“The wave of repressions, come upon members and leaders of the Young Front in 2006, goes on now,” leader of the organisation Zmitser Dashkevich said, commenting on a trial of youth activists, detained near the KGB building on November 7.

“Based on his personal interests, Lukashenka suspended it for some time, and people, tried on article 193, were fined. People were released for some time. But the essence of the regime remains the same. We told it when we leaving prisons, because new criminal cases against our associates were instigated at the same time,” the politician told in an interview to Radio Svaboda.

It should be reminded that some youth activists, detained near the KGB building on November 7, are to have trial today in the Leninski district court of Minsk. They were holding a banner “Communism must be tried by tribunal”. The minors were set free, while reports on an authorised picket were drawn up against five members of the Young Front.

Young Front activists Nasta Palazhanka, Tatsyana Shaputska, nasta Loika, Alyaksei Yanusheuski and Anton Rusin will be guarded to the Leninski district court, situated in the building of the House of Justice on Syamashka Street. They spent three days in cells of the jail on Akrestin Street.
