Hrodna's Azot at strict economy regime

The largest enterprise of Hrodna does not have money for buying raw materials. Radio Svaboda has been told about that by the leader of the local Independent Trade Union Syarhei Antusevich.
“Administration of the enterprise officially says that there were difficulties with sales of products indeed. There is inertness in costs for raw materials, and namely benzol, gas, other raw materials. There are attempts for costs for raw materials to be decreased. In fact, financial saving policy is imposed. As the chief economist of the enterprise told yesterday: earlier banks pursue the enterprise to make it take a loan, today the situation is the opposite, and nobody gives hard cash,” the leader of the trade union said.
He noted that mostly Belarusian benzol produced in Navapolatsk and Mazyr is bought.
“In fact, the matter concerns some purchases which are stopped. It is to be agreed whether it is worthwhile to buy some equipment. What does strict economy means? It means exactly that something which can be bought tomorrow is not bought today. All requests for purchases from workshops and services are studied more detailed. The priority is naturally given to those things which could be bought for Belarusian rubles, not for currency,” Syarhei Antusevich said.
