Libyan president Muammar al-Gaddafi to visit Belarus for the first time

President of Libyan Arab Jamahiriya is to visit Belarus on November, 2–4.

It is the first visit of the Libyan leader to the Republic of Belarus. Negotiations between Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Muammar al-Gaddafi are scheduled for November 3. A number of bilateral agreements are expected to be signed on the results of the talks.

A. Lukashenka paid an official visit to Libya in 2000. M. Gaddafi was to pay a return visit in August, 2001, but was delayed for unknown reasons.

It should be reminded that Minsk traffic militia said that “timely traffic restriction” was possible in Minsk along the Minsk belt road, Independence, Winners and Masherau Avenues, Kupaly, Lenin, Starazheuskaya, Engels, Marx, Babruiskaya, Zakharava Streets and Vaiskovy Pereulok on 2–4 November due to the visit of the Libyan leader.
