All opposition demonstrations banned in Homel

Uladzimer Katsora, coordinator of the “For Freedom” movement in the Homel region, demands the officer for ideology of the region executive committee to give necessary recommendations for application for mass street event.

The city executive committee states most of the recent mass events in Homel have been banned because the applications for holding didn’t correspond the existing rules. When civil activist asked for a sample application, A. Katsila, head of the main department on ideology of the region executive committee, said recommendations how to fill an application for holding mass event had been sent to the city executive committee.

However, when Uladzimer Katsora was rejected holding a meeting and a picket on a traditional ground, he went to law and found out that the city executive committee knew nothing about recommendations of A. Katsila.

The coordinator of the “For Freedom” movement in the Homel region addressed A. Katsila, head of the main department on ideology of the region executive committee, and asked to send a copy of documents necessary for application to him.
