“The union state” is an example of how the post-Soviet space should be restored, Secretary of State of the Union State Pavel Borodin said during a video conference at the Russian Public Service Academy under the Russian Federation President

“The post-Soviet space should be restored using confederation principles,” believes Pavel Borodin.

In his words, macroeconomics laws substantially influence the development of countries in the modern world. “We need at least 300 million consumers to develop high-tech industries such as shipbuilding, aircraft and space industries,” said the official. He added, “having 300 million consumers earns respect at the international level.”

Pavel Borodin admitted that the creation of the Union State progresses hard. “These are the adoption of the Constitution Act, the introduction of the single currency, formation of a common parliament, and adoption of union laws,” he said. Joint boards of the ministries of foreign affairs, the interior ministries, the defence ministries, and the customs services work effectively within the framework of the Union State. The Secretary of State noted, however, joint boards of the ministries of industry, economy, finance, agriculture, which are supposed to address problems emerging in the real sector of the bilateral relations, have not been created yet.
