Fine cancelled, but what about reinstitution in job?

Today Vitsebsk regional court cancelled decree of the court of Chyhunachny district of Vitebsk in the case of the former candidate for deputy Andrei Lyavinau.

Judge R. Dyadoda resolved to bring Andrei Lyavinau to responsibility under article 9.1 of the Administrative Code, “intended bodily harm to policemen A. Zakharau”. The oppositionist was sentenced to a fine of 10 basic units.

Police captain Andrei Lyavinau was running in Vitsebsk Chyhunachny district No.19.

After registration of the initiative group for collection of signatures by Andrei Lyavinau, a provocation was organized against him, the human rights centre Viasna reminds.

On August 8 the oppositionist was charged by A. Zakharau with bodily harm, and A. Lyavinau was dismissed from police.

The regional prosecutor’s office refused to bring up a criminal case. The regional police commanding officers “recommended” the regional commanding officers to initiate an administrative case. Former colleagues didn’t dare to disobey, and the process started.

An appeal against the decree of the regional court Andrei Lyavinau noted that he hadn’t done the actions he is charged with, and offered facts of falsifying materials of the case and numerous irregularities in judicial proceedings.
