MFA: Full contacts between Belarus and NATO impossible

Format of Belarus-NATO cooperation doesn’t change, Belarus doesn’t refuse expanding of cooperation, but reminds that full contacts are impossible.

This position was expressed at a briefing of the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of Belarus by its spokesman Andrei Papou, commenting on a meeting in the NATO headquarters in Brussels in the format 26+Belarus, Interfax reports.

“There’s nothing extraordinary in this cooperation,” Andrei Papou said.

He noted that a form of cooperation between Belarus and NATO had been defined long ago.

“We have never denied it,” the MFA spokesman said, reminding that “full cooperation is impossible”.

At the same time A. Papou emphasised that “creation of consolidated security area in Europe is impossible without Belarus”.

“Even taking into account NATO’s interests in Afghanistan,” he added, explaining he meant air right.

“We have always been ready for cooperation with consideration of our interests in European security,” the MFA spokesman said.
