Editor-in-chief of “Narodnaya Volya” newspaper tells under what conditions the newspaper was allowed to be spread.
First issue of “Narodnaya Volya”, spread via Belsoyuzpechat news-stalls was sold out fast.
– Yes, according to the information we have, our newspapers was sold out. Unfortunately, Minsk office of the organisation took only 2,500 copies to sell, though we offered two times more copies. I am sure more copies of the newspapers could have been sold,” Iosif Syaredzich said in an interview to “Belorusski Partizan”.
On a question if the editor’s office plans to increase circulation and offers more copies to news-stalls, the editor answered:
– We have no such plans this year. We need a month to analyze the market and understand our possibilities. So, nothing will change in the nearest time.
On a question about access of “Narodnaya Volya” to official sources of information, Syaredzich said:
– You know, in my view, in any country of the world, it is not so easy to receive good sensational information for a journalist. In the US, for example, journalists are not pampered. But they demonstrate aerobatic flying: if they can’t go in through a door, they get in through a window, roof, and so on. So, we are trying to do our best, too.
It is also known that only 1,400 copies of “Nasha Niva” are permitted to be spread via news-stalls in Minsk.
