Chairman of the “house of representatives” Uladzimir Andreichanka notes similarities in positions of Belarus and Iran on key international issues and doesn’t see any obstacles for development of cooperation between our countries.
“Belarus and Iran have similar approaches to formation of the fair world order on the basis of international rules,” the speaker of the lower house of the Belarusian “parliament” said at a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini in Minsk, Interfax reports.
Andreichanka said Belarus “feels support of Iran in international organization. The Republic of Belarus acts in the same way.”
Chairman of the lower house of the Belarusian “parliament” said Belarus sees “no obstacles for deeper cooperation between our states and parliaments”. “By now, we have reached much in development of contacts between our parliaments and governments, but we still have much to do,” U. Andreichanka said.
He noticed considerable success in inter-parliamentary cooperation. “We think the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation operates successfully. We have done a lot to develop the mutual trade,” the speaker said. He noted that over the ten months of the current year, the trade between Belarus and Iran hit $84 million. “However, I should admit that political cooperation between the two countries is developing faster than the economic one,” U. Andreichanka noted.
The Irani diplomat accepted this point and admitted “the economic ties can’t are far from the political ones.” In this connection, S. Hosseini thinks “officials should work more serious to fulfil the will of the two leaders of the two leaders.”
The Irani ambassador assigned a great role to inter-parliamentary cooperation in the frameworks of development of interstate ties of Iran and Belarus. In particular, the diplomat noted “new laws should remove all obstacles on the way of cooperation.”
