Andrei Papou, a press-secretary of the Interior Ministry of Belarus, confirmed information that Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs David Kramer had been issued entry visa to Belarus.
At the same time, in the talk with Interfax correspondent the Belarusian diplomat evaded unambiguous answer to the question about aims of the visit of D. Kramer, and refused to comment rumours appeared in Belarusian oppositional media about intention of David Kramer to attend the funeral of Iryna Kazulina, Alyaksandr Kazulin’s wife. “Personally I believe that funerals are a matter of a family circle,” A. Papou said.
“As for Belarusian-US dialogue, the Belarusian side is and has always been ready for an equal dialogue without preliminary conditions,” the diplomat noted, referring to a public statement of Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
