Alyaksandr Lukashenka said about collapse of building sector of Belarus and housing failure in Minsk.
“The decision to examine the situation at the highest level was taken due to totally collapsed work of building sector, moreover complains of the population are colossal,” A. Lukashenka said on the meeting on improving construction industry performance.
“We can’t be satisfied with tempo, quality or cost of construction in Belarus,” the head of state said. According to him, “The Ministry of Internal Affair head, who supervises the significant for our country construction (sports complex Minsk-Arena construction – IF) begins to get savage about contact with builders.”
Lukashenka criticised harshly country’s engineering companies. “They are good-for-nothing, they even sold their offices, but have salary more than a head of state has,” A. Lukashenka said.
He also stated that “mess with price formation on all stages of construction continues. The programme on building sector material and technical foundation development has been performing for two years. But only 20 per cent of the programme is financed.”
A. Lukashenka also noted a lack of personnel in the building sector of the country. “Deficit of constructional materials shakes the inner market and constitutes a serious obstacle for normal work of building companies. In this connection I’d like to hear from the controlling bodies how many hours a day our cement and brick plants work,” A. Lukashenka said.
According to him, “there are no tangible results on above-norm uncompleted construction reduction, as well as on rates and volume of capital repairs to dwelling buildings.”
Lukashenka also paid special attention to “housing failure in Minsk.”
