Price for gas for Belarus in the second quarter of 2008 can be determined at the session of the “union” Council of Ministers on 21 March.
First deputy prime minister Uladzimir Syamashka has said it today to journalists.
“The session of the Council of Ministers of the union state is to be held in Minsk on 21 March. This issue will be discussed at a narrow-format meeting,” he said.
According to the first vice premier, the Belarusian side is negotiating with Gazprom and the Russian government. “We are trying to explain the adjustment of the gas pricing formula is needed,” Uladzimir Syamashka noted.
Belarus buys Russian gas at USD 119 per 1,000 cubic meters in the first quarter of 2008.
