Amnesty International: “Actions would speak louder than words”

First reactions to the fact famous PR-manager Lord Timothy Bell was going to burnish the image of Belarus and its ruler have appeared in Great Britain.

As Amnesty International spokesman Mike Blakemore said to BBC, “"If President Lukashenka really wants to improve his image, actions would speak louder than words - however well they might be spun.”

According to Blakemore, the Belarusian ruler “should stop harassing and locking up opponents, release prisoners of conscience and abolish death penalty in the country.”

According to British observers, Lukashenka will apparently become the most difficult task in the career of the 66-year-old PR-specialist.

Lord Bell, who was responsible for three successful Margaret Thatcher's election campaigns, created images of many international companies, has met with the Belarusian ruler in Minsk the last week. The talk on improving the odious situation in Belarus was held.
