Policemen staged pogrom in Babrujsk (Photo)

Several persons burst into a private house of he civil activist Ihar Khodzka in Babrujsk in order to search the house.

Radio Racyja managed to contact the young activist Ales Chyhir who was in the house, and he told about the events.

“Under the disguise of a fire inspection a fireman, Syarhei Arkhipenka, Mr. Toustsik, most likely a senior police lieutenant, and a person without documents who hadn’t introduced himself broke into the house. They are insulting the owner of the house and his guests and carry out an illegal search”.

Ihar Khodzka, Ales Chyhir together with his friend Syarzhuk Lasinski asked the undesired guests to quit the house.

A policeman beaten up Khodzka and Chyhir, and an ambulance was called in for the latter. About 500 copies of Svaboda newspaper were confiscated.

The human rights center Viasna reminds that it is not the first instance when policemen got interested by the private house of Mr. Khodzka. Last year on September 6 Syarzhuk Lasinski, Mikita Bytsenka and two more young persons were detained there on September 6. Stickers of the European March were confiscated from them.
