Press conference of opposition activists, suspected and accused on the criminal case on entrepreneurs’ action 10 January, has been held today in the United Civil Party head-office. Many riot militiamen were watching outside the building where the UCP head-office is situated.
There are 14 accused in the case, initiated by the militia. Two of them, Alyaksei Bondar and Ales Straltsou, haven’t yet visited an investigator for filing a charge.
Riot militiamen were waiting for opposition activists to leave the UCP office. Alyaksei Bondar and Ales Straltsou phoned to the investigation committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, conducting the case, and promised to come for questioning.
A number of statements were made on the press conference. The politicians think using of road militia against demonstrants on 10 January was a special provocation of the authorities.
“All accused people served the administrative arrests. That is why we think such actions are hostage taking for bargaining with the European Union,” Young Front member Uladzimir Syarheyeu said commenting on the criminal case.
