High-profile trial against participants of protest rally of market vendors

On April 16 “The process over the 14” starts in the court of Tsentralny district of Minsk. Participants of protest rallies of market vendors held in Minsk this winter are to stand trial.

The case is to be examined by Judge Alena Illyina.

Today only 10 persons will stand trial. They are Andrei Kim (stays in prison since January 31), Mikhail Pashkevich, Alyaksei Bondar, Uladzimer Syarheyeu, Artsyom Dubsky, Ales Straltsou, Andrei Charnyshou, Anton Kopijsh, Mikhail Kryvau and Tatsyana Tsishkevich.

Four others – Alyaksandr Barazenka, Pavel Vinahradau, Mikhail Subach and Maxim Dashuk won’t be tried today. They haven’t managed to read the materials of the case and the trial over them have been postponed.

As we have informed, at the protest rally on January 10 for which the activists are tried gathered about 5,000 businessmen who protested against discriminatory decrees of Alyaksandr Lukashenka and blocked Independence Avenue.
