Performance against lie on Belarusian television (Photo)

Activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” held a performance against false propaganda in state mass media near the October cinema in Minsk on 16 May, the Day of Belarusian Solidarity.

They installed a big box with an inscription “Belarusian television,” every participants of performance taped his mouth with a piece of “Sovetskaya Belorussia” newspaper. By this action they expressed the protest against lies of state newspapers and television, Radio Svaboda reports.

The site near the October cinema is popular hangout for Polytechnic Academy students, moreover the show in the cinema was over and people began to leave the cinema. People present enjoyed the performance, expressed their support, many people threw rubbish into the box with the inscription “Belarusian television.” No militiamen were noticed at the performance.
