Case of 14: riot militiamen tore off banner “No to repressions!” from roof (Video, photo)

Activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” held an action when the trail over participants of the entrepreneurs’ demonstration began.

A banner “No to repressions” was hung out on a building on Kirov Street opposite the court building.

The banner hung for 10 minutes and was removed by riot militia officers, who were watching outside the court building.

The so called trial of 14, trial over participants of the entrepreneurs’ rally, began today in the Tsentralny district court of Minsk.

Paval Vinahradau, Mikhal Subach and Maksim Dashuk stand trial today. Alyaksandr Barazenka, one more participant of the process, is abroad now.

14 opposition activists are involved in the case on participation in the protests actions of entrepreneurs. 10 of them have been already convicted earlier. Youth activist Andrei Kim is sentenced to a year and a half in penal colony by the Tsentralny district court of Minsk. Other participants of the case of 14 Alyaksei Bondar, Artsyom Dubski, Mikhal Kryvau, Mikhal Pashkevich, Ales Straltsou, Ales Charnyshou, Tatsyana Tishkevich are sentenced to correctional labour without placement them to penitentiary institutions. They must charge the state 20 per cent of their wages. Anton Koipish and Uladzimir Syarheeu are fined of 100 basic units. The judgement was read by Alena Illina.

It should be reminded that about 5 thousand people attended the protest action on 10 January. They blocked off Independence Avenue protesting against discriminative decrees of Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
