Largest in Belarus Lukoml power plant stopped

The largest in Belarus power plant has been stopped due to problems on the plant. The authorities don’t’ tell the details.

“The Lukoml power plant has been stopped,” Eduard Taupyanets, first deputy minister of energy, said answering the question of the power outages in several districts of Belarus on Wednesday.

According to him, temporal energy-consumption constraint has been imposed.

At the same time the deputy minister said it wouldn’t cause any serious problems. “No panic, the situation is under control,” E. Taupyanets said. “Specialists are working on site, the problem will be solved in the nearest time,” he said.

As Interfax report earlier, some districts of Belarus faced power shut off due to problems on the Lukoml power plant.
