The Maskouski district court dismissed Franak Vyachorka request on readmission to a third year of Journalism Faculty of Belarusian State University.
Judge Volha Husakova said a procedure of expulsion of student Franak Vyachorka had been held in compliance with the law. She also said Franak had gone to court too late, he should have complained just after the expulsion, Radio Svaboda reports.
Franak Vyachorka confessed he didn’t expect another court decision. However, he thinks such legal cases will evoke a wide response and evaluation in the nearest future.
It should be reminded that Franak Vyachorka, head of the Culture Commission of the Belarusian Popular Front, was expelled from the university after he had missed classes due to serving an administrative arrest for participating in the action on Solidarity Day on 16 January, when he had been detained in the city center and arrested for 15 days allegedly for using of foul language.
Syarhei Dubovik, dean of the Faculty of Journalism of Belarusian State University, said to Franak on 15 February a pro-vice-chancellor had expelled him for “academic failure”.
