Former secretary of the Security Council Viktar Sheiman leaves for Venezuela in early August. First vice premier Uladzimir Syamashka has said it today.

It should be reminded that Viktar Sheiman is a co-chairman of the high-level Belarusian-Venezuelan joint commission.

Uladzimir Syamashka has already said the Petrolera BeloVenesolana extracted 370 ton of oil in Venezuela, and “a question of expansion of operations of the joint venture by joining three more deposits is being considered now”. The question is planned to be settled up “in 2 months”.

“Potentially, we can extract 2 million ton of oil,” Syamashka said.

“Viktar Sheiman is leaving for Venezuela in early August. He will discuss different questions of bilateral cooperation there,” Syamashka said. He also qualified Belarus’s intention to participate in extraction of heavy oil in Orinoco River basin.

The vice premier also offered Venezuela to say if they needed the Belarusian fertilisers.

“We have supplied 30-40 thousand tons of potash fertilisers to Venezuela for the last years, but this year supplies will amount to 200,000 tons. Our Venezuelan partners should define how much potash and nitric fertilisers the will need in 2009,” Syamashka said.
